I joined The Zip Yard 5 years ago as a 27-year-old young woman entering the world of entrepreneurship for the first time. The Zip Yard gave me unending support, encouragement and advice every step of the way in taking this leap into business ownership. Don and Caroline at The Zip Yard took up the position of my personal and business life coaches in the initial stages and helped me to bring out the entrepreneur within. As time has gone on my confidence in myself and the brand have only grown stronger and my business continues to thrive giving me a lifestyle and control over my business career that I had only dreamed of. The future is bright for The Zip Yard and I am excited to be a part of it.

I can’t imagine my day now not being ‘the decision maker’ and after 7 years the growth potential of the business is still exciting. The staff are so loyal and we have a great team. Some customers have now become friends over the years. Positive feedback from new customers is so motivating. “One of the most interesting aspects about The Zip Yard is that it’s a fashion retail/service business, and people are always asking for advice. We could be altering a wedding dress one day and, if other customers are waiting or in the fitting rooms, everyone gets involved and gives their opinion. There’s a lovely family atmosphere in the shop. It’s a big success and we’ve exceeded all our projections. Our turnover has grown every year since we opened and we have more staff than we ever expected.

Becoming a franchisee with The Zip Yard has given me the opportunity to be my own boss with the backing and support of a great team. The alterations industry had become dated but The Zip Yard has revolutionised the offering to customers. We are now the clear leader in the industry.
