Kumon Inst. Of Education Co. Ltd.
What began as a way for Toru Kumon of home-schooling his son in maths, developed into a school that met a student's individual needs and tutored them in that way. The concept began in 1954 and proved so successful, that in 1958 the first franchise opened. Today, there are 26,200 franchises of the school in over 45 countries.
