Mersey Franchisees Visit Belfast for Shadowing

Ken Kneale explains how their trip went...
"Michael had been telling us how he’d generated a high volume of leads from his advertising campaigns and his contact with a leak detector specialist. Both Steve and I had suffered a couple of slow months and we wanted to see Michael’s business running in full swing.

"Getting over to Belfast was remarkably cheap and easy. Michael met us in his Aspray van at the George Best airport and we then drove to Michael’s office in Hilltown, County Down – having never been to Northern Ireland before we were quite taken aback by the beautiful countryside.

"We met Michael’s team who showed two visiting Scousers how their leads and claims are managed. Leanne Rice has put together Michaels’ marketing strategy and she took us through it.

"We thought some of the adverts were excellent - one in particular was very eye catching of a “Bad Leek” showing a caricature of the menacing looking vegetable. I also liked the idea of pot plants that were delivered to brokers in well worded Aspray pots. We were shown how the use of road side billboards in Belfast and slots on the local radio station have helped to raise the profile of Aspray in Belfast.

"Michael and his colleagues gave us a lovely lunch and in the afternoon we had the good fortune to be able to visit a potential claim with the leak detector specialist who provides so much work for Aspray. We saw him in action tracing out a leak within the floor of a luxury bungalow.

"Our visit was very worthwhile and I’d encourage all franchises to find out and learn from what others are doing.

"Steve and I intend to track down all the Merseyside leak detectors to see if we too can develop the same relationship that Michael has with his leak detector.

"We are also going to mimic some of Michael’s good ideas which have been so successful. He has kindly sent over everything that we need to be able to put his ideas into action – a very generous gesture. A BIG thank you to Michael and his team."
